Dr. Satish Ailawadi having graduated in Chemical Engineering from University of Roorkee (Now IIT, Roorkee) earned MBA degree with specialization in Marketing from Pune University (now Savitribai Phule Pune University) followed by M. Phil in Entrepreneurship from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and Ph. D in R&D Management from Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur.

Dr. Ailawadi has over 27 years of corporate experience in the field of Product Management, Sales Administration & Coordination, Vendor Development, Imports, Purchases, Stores, Materials Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management in Electronics, Synthetic Fibre and Textiles Industry.

His last corporate job was at Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Co. Ltd as a Senior Manager-Materials. He later moved into academia as an Associate Professor with Vivekananda Education Society’s Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai and subsequently as a Professor & HOD – Operations and Supply Chain Management with K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research (SIMSR), Mumbai. After working in SIMSR for three years as a Professor he was appointed as the Director of K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research.

Having served SIMSR as a Director for four years, he joined Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad Campus as a Director. During the last year of his tenure as a Director of IMT, Hyderabad he was also a Professor Emeritus in the area of Operations & Supply Chain Management at Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad. He also worked as a Senior Professor – Operations & Supply Chain Management and Head of Academics at Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), Hyderabad.

He superannuated from VJIM, Hyderabad in the month of September 2020 and currently he is the Group Mentor & Adjunct Professor at MKES Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai.

Dr. Ailawadi has over 20 years of experience in teaching Operations Management, Materials Management, Operations Planning and Control, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Total Quality Management, Business Process Re-engineering, Productivity Techniques, Cross-cultural Management, Enterprise Risk Management and Service operations Management at Post Graduate level.

He has authored a book on Logistics & Supply Chain Management published by Prentice-Hall (India) Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi.

He is a Life Member of Indian Institute of Materials Management, Mumbai. Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). Member of Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering.

He is also an Advisor-Mentor and Member of the Board of Governors -N. Kagliwal Education & Research Foundation, Aurangabad.

Dr. Ailawadi has attended "The Multidisciplinary Approach to University Development" workshop at Harvard University, USA and a short-term program for leaders in management education on "Innovating for Excellence" at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has delivered a course in Materials Management at Ingolstadt University, Germany and Logistics and Distribution at the University of Applied Sciences, Steyr, Austria.
