MKES-IMSR understands that in today's interconnected world, business transcends borders. As
the global marketplace becomes increasingly integrated, the ability to navigate diverse cultural
landscapes and understand international business practices is essential for aspiring business
leaders. International immersion experiences offer PGDM students a unique opportunity to develop
a global mindset, gain cross-cultural competency, and broaden their perspectives. It is a catalyst for
personal growth, professional development, and fostering a deeper understanding of the
interconnected nature of the modern business landscape
The International immersion for 2024-26 PGDM batch of student’s was organised to Dubai from 24 th
to 28 th September 2024. The students departed from Mumbai on 23rd September 2024 for an
international immersion tour to Dubai via Abu Dhabi. Upon arrival in Dubai, they were transferred to
the Grand Excelsior Hotel, a four-star property. After check-in, they embarked on a comprehensive
city tour of Dubai, visiting some of the city's iconic landmarks. The tour covered Palm Jumeirah, Burj
Khalifa, Marina Beach, Burj Al Arab, the Fountain Show at Dubai Mall, Atlantis, and concluded with
a scenic Dhow Cruise along the Dubai Water Canal.
Day 2: Corporate Visits
On the second day, the students visited Nakheel Holdings, a prominent member of Dubai Holding
and a world-renowned master developer. They learned about Nakheel's innovative landmark
projects, including the Palm Jumeirah and the upcoming Palm Jebel Ali.
The second corporate visit of the day was to Apple Inc., where the students attended an educational
session about Apple's global business strategies, product innovation, and the future of technology.
Later in the day, the students visited Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Dubai. Here, they
participated in a three hour certificate programme on "Smart Sustainability & Innovation," gaining
insights into cutting-edge sustainable practices and emerging technological innovations. The
lectures were delivered by Dr. Sanjay Modak, Chair, Graduate Programs and Research Department
and Associate Professor of Economics, RIT and Dr. Samiullah Khan, Member of the Board of
Advisors at RIT.
Day 3: Immersive Experiences
On the third day, the students visited Teleios, an Italian company located in Dubai Production City
that specializes in manufacturing racing simulators. They experienced an immersive racing
simulation where advanced technology replicates the thrill of high-speed driving on international
racetracks, providing a unique experience for both enthusiasts and professional drivers.
Their next stop was Nasdaq Dubai, a prominent stock exchange in the Middle East that lists both
regional and international shares. During their visit, the students attended a session on the workings
of the Dubai Financial Market, gaining valuable insights into stock trading and financial market
operations. The session was by Mr. Saiem Jalil, Senior Manager, Nasdaq.
In addition to their educational visits, the students had ample time for sightseeing and shopping, fully
immersing themselves in Dubai’s vibrant culture. The group returned to Mumbai via Ras Al Khaimah
on 28th September 2024, having gained both academic and cultural enrichment from this
international immersion tour.
